ABOUT THE ARTIST
A native of Independence,
Missouri, Larry Brownley began drawing compulsively at an early age,
encouraged by others in his family who practiced various artforms as
hobbies. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt
University and a masters degree from the Ohio State University, he
followed successful careers as a naval officer and as a college professor
- but always continued his interest in art Moving to the
northwest in 1978, he fell in love with the Puget Sound region and
began spending more and more of his time refining his painting skills,
consolidating ideas gleaned from art museums around the world and
developing a distinctive northwest style that reflects his affinity for
the region. He is now a full-time artist whose works have garnered
numerous awards in local and regional exhibits and are included in private
and corporate collections throughout Europe, North America and several
Pacific Rim nations. His studio is at 1985 N.E. Madison Road,
Poulsbo, Washington 98370 (near Bremerton). Studio visits are
welcomed, by appointment. Call (360) 692-1793 or click
